  1. IEEE Marie Sklodowska-Curie Award and Plasma Science Awards (Please ignore information below, it will be updated at later stage)

    The IEEE Marie Sklodowska-Curie Award and NPSS Plasma Science Award winners will be recognised and honoured during the ICOPS 2020 Awards Banquet on Wednesday, December 9, 2020. Please note that Awards Banquet participation is available by ticket purchase of USD 60 for conference attendees or USD 80 for companions. Tickets may be purchased through the Conference registration portal or at the on-site registration desk. The information about Award Winners will be updated soon.

  2. Student Paper Awards and Student Travel Grants
    Student Paper Competition and Awards

    The NPSS Student Paper Award seeks to recognize outstanding student poster or oral papers submitted to the 47th International Conference on Plasma Science (ICOPS 2020). The purpose of these awards is to encourage both outstanding student contributions and greater student participation as principal or sole authors of papers as well as to acknowledge the importance of student contributions to the fields embraced by the ICOPS 2020. The two best submissions will each receive a cash award of US$500 each and a certificate. The two runners-up will each receive a certificate only.

    The Student Paper Awards will be announced and presented during the ICOPS 2020

    Student Travel Grants

    A limited number of student travel grants are available to encourage student IEEE members to attend ICOPS 2020. For those students selected the grant will provide complimentary conference registration .

    Only "First Author" abstracts submitted by students are eligible for travel grants. Moreover, the abstract should be original (not published elsewhere).

    Applicants should submit the following information by Feb 10, 2020 new deadline of Aug 30, 2020:

    1. Copy of submitted abstract
    2. IEEE student membership number (Note: (i) If you are currently not an IEEE student member you are advised to become one. The information about which can be obtained at https://www.ieee.org/membership/join/dues.html. (ii) If you are currently not an IEEE student member you can still apply for student grant, however selected awardee must join IEEE student membership to receive the award. If you do not send in the IEEE student membership number by the date informed to you by the Student Travel Award Committee, then the award will go to the next applicant on the list.)
    3. Proposed travel budget to the conference (cost sharing with other students is encouraged)
    4. Two letters of recommendation, one of which is from the student's advisor, stating the importance of the research to be presented.

    Create a single merged pdf file containing all the application material and e-mail it to wul@ihpc.a-star.edu.sg with the subject line "ICOPS 2020 Student Travel Grant Application".

  3. NPSS Paul Phelps Continuing Education Grant  (Please ignore, this grant is cancelled as Mini-course is cancelled)

    The Paul Phelps Continuing Education Grant, funded by the IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society, is awarded to support participation in the ICOPS 2020 Mini-course on “Computation and Simulation of Plasma” and to further encourage membership in NPSS. Additional information and application forms are available at the NPSS Conference Awards website.

    To be considered for the 2020 Paul Phelps Continuing Education Grant, please email the duly filled application form to the Conference Chair at icops2020@meetmatt.net and copied to rajdeep.rawat@nie.edu.sg with a subject line of "ICOPS 2020 Phelps Grant" by October 10, 2020.

  4. NPSS Child Care Assistance Grant  (Please ignore, this grant is cancelled as conference is virtual now)

    The Nuclear & Plasma Sciences Society is offering child care reimbursement of up to $400 per family to a maximum of five families to assist conference attendees who incur additional childcare expenses by attending an NPSS conference. Limited funds are available and preference will be given to applicants in the early stages of their careers who are IEEE NPSS members. To apply for Child Care Assistance, fill out this form and return it no later than 22 September 2020 by email to ICOPS 2020 Chair at icops2020@meetmatt.net and copied to rajdeep.rawat@nie.edu.sg with a subject line of “ICOPS 2020 Child Care Assistance Grant”.
