The topic of the 2020 ICOPS mini course is “Plasma Computations and Simulations”. This mini course will be held 11th December 2020
The Mini-Course is coordinated by Professor Ricky Ang of Singapore University of Technology and Design, Singapore. This will be a full-day mini-course, with lunch and two tea-breaks.
This will comprise four 1.5-hour lectures.
(i) | John P Verboncoeur (Michigan State University, USA) on “Overview of Particle-In-Cell (PIC) plasma simulation”, |
(ii) | Wenjun DING (Institute of High-Performance Computing, Singapore) on “Particle-In-Cell (PIC) Simulation of laser-plasma interaction”, |
(iii) | Ling-Hsiao LYU (National Central University, Taiwan) on “Simulation Studies of Nonlinear Kinetic Processes in Space Plasma” and |
(iv) | Guoyong FU (Zhejiang University, China) on “Kinetic-fluid hybrid simulations of energetic particle interaction with MHD modes in fusion plasmas”. |

Registration Fee: US $300 student and US $550 regular; Registration includes the cost of two coffee breaks and the lunch.
NPSS Paul Phelps Continuing Education GrantThe Paul Phelps Continuing Education Grant, funded by the IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society, is awarded to support participation in the ICOPS 2020 Mini-course on “Computation and Simulation of Plasma” and to further encourage membership in NPSS.
